Green Kitchen Cakes at the Wedding Event with a Difference – Sunday 9th March

Spring had definitely sprung on Sunday 9th March. The hottest day of the year so far brought lots of lovely people to the Nottingham Conference Centre to be inspired by over 80 creative wedding suppliers.

It’s no secret that the Wedding Event with a Difference is one of our favourite events. Organised by the wonderful ladies at Save the Date Magazine, we’re encouraged to go all creative with the stand to create something a bit different from the norm. For the March event we channelled the warmer weather and created a spring inspired stand with peaches and pinks, paper flowers, a few real flowers (with some DIY flower arranging!) and a bit of sparkle thrown in. There was also the addition of some blue tits to one of our popular cake designs who proved very popular.

As well as some new cake designs we also used the day to show off some cakey alternatives, with some dessert table ideas. We got lots of positive comments about the teacups filled with stripy meringue kisses.

The cake samples went down very well as usual. It was touch and go whether we’d taken enough but thankfully no one went without cake! We went for one of the favourite flavours; lemon cake with a super citrus-y lemon curd buttercream.


We’ll hopefully be back at the Wedding Event with a Difference in October, but in the meantime we can’t wait for our next fair.
